Cabernet Sauvignon

2015 Cabernet Sauvignon

Dubbed “Chateau Mouton-Rothschild meets Chateau Montrose—with Napa opulence” by vintner Ralph Hertelendy, this 2015 Cabernet is a bold, luxurious masterpiece. This wine was crafted from First Growth-level fruit in Oakville (adjacent to a very famous, iconic Napa Valley winery who charges $1000+ per bottle), Howell Mountain, Atlas Peak, Pritchard Hill, and Silverado Bench fruit—and aged 23 months in 90% new French and Hungarian oak. Displaying a wonderfully playful symbiotic relationship between Mayacama valley floor character and Vaca mountainous structure, this Cabernet Sauvignon shows more complex character and refined elegance than the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon.

Seductive aromas of roasted coffee, crème de cassis, violets, and dark cherry lead to a velvety palate layered with blackcurrant, rose petals, and a long espresso crème brûlée finish. With only 706 cases produced and 35% yield loss due to shatter, this limited release is our most complex and captivating Cabernet to date. The mesmerizing complexities between the balanced, full-body character interlaced with the structured yet velvety tannins may cause frisson with certain individuals. Proceed with delight!
